Please use this thread to suggest the agenda for the upcoming Rust Belt Bloggers Summit.
The dates are Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th.
Since we don't have an operating budget, I doubt we can get any speakers (e.g. Richard Longworth). What I would like to see develop from this gathering is some sort of organized effort among interested bloggers dealing with regional economic development.
I'm not sure who is updating the Facebook page. Regardless, the Friday night gathering will start at 8pm. I set a late time to accommodate anyone trying to travel to Erie and also consider that the interested locals likely have work/family concerns.
Saturday at noon will be the meeting about the social media agenda we might develop for Rust Belt Bloggers. I'm planning on two hours (noon-2 p.m. on Saturday).
Please check out my blog, "What If?", at www.globalerie.com/dalehannah. concerning the event at BrewErie this weekend. If you see any things that need to be altered, please let me know.

i'm brand-new to the region (pittsburgh, specifically, in my case) and have started blogging about it over at Rustvalley.com. i was excited to see this event, but just can't make it this time (unpacking, flying back to new hampshire for business, etc. moving is no fun even when you end up somewhere as great as pittsburgh).
is this something you do often or will i be for years sad about the missed opportunity to attend?
This meeting is a first. No need to be remiss if you cannot attend. Help bring Rust Belt Bloggers to another locale. At the very least you should know that I will come all the way from Colorado to join you.
Bummed that I can't attend. It's mostly my fault in terms of not working hard enough and getting things done to clear my schedule. Just want to say that I'm interested in the concept continuing.
Also would love to meet Jim, if it's possible when you swing through Pittsburgh, perhaps with another blogger or two.
