Promoting America's Urban Frontier

Where? I still like the idea of convening in Erie.
When? The next few months are bad for me, but that isn't a reason to meet later rather than sooner. Just the same, I'll throw mid-summer out there.

Erie sounds good.

I like the idea of a Friday evening into Saturday event.

Pick a weekend in June or July.

I suggest July 11th-12th. Of course, our Erie hosts might have something to say about the dates of the Summit. I'll ask Peter (Global Erie) if he has any ideas or preference.

I would like to know more about this summit. I know I would be interested as well as many other fellow Buffalonians.

I heard back from Global Erie and July 11th-12th is a go. I've heard that a bunch of Youngstown bloggers are planning on attending.

Start spreading the word and we'll begin working out the details and logistics of the conference. I think PodCamp Pittsburgh would be a good model for our event.

I left a message on BFD that Scott and I, from "The WoM Blog", would be making this road trip as well.

I just joined Rust belt bloggers----great idea by the way! We should meet in summer in Erie or Buffalo,I'm from erie so that's way easy for me. Besides Erie's summer's are great there's tons to do, with 7 miles of really nice beaches! Katie Johns

I like the idea of inviting Richard Longworth to the summit.

Judy:

Would you want to try connecting with him to figure out if this works? let me know how I can help.

If Judy or anyone else contacts Longworth, let me know. Otherwise, I'll reach out to him. I'm ready to invest some more time and energy into the Summit.

This is Dick Longworth. I gather my book is getting some attention. I want to join this conversation, and any other Midwestern conversations that you all may know about. For starters, what is Jim Russell"s email address? I'm having trouble contacting him. Thanks..............

Hello Dick!

Your book is getting a lot of traction, and I've heard about it a number of places. (Last week in Milwaukee, for example).

There are a number of bloggers you need to connect with. I'll do some e-mail introductions. Please send along your contact info to me at edmorrison@purdue.edu

Thanks!
